Western Digital's 1TB MyBook external hard drives won't share media files over network. It doesn't matter what the files are: If you try to share these formats over a network, Western Digital assumes not just that you're a criminal, but that it is its job to police users.

- love my three 320GB MyBook external hard drives that I bought a couple years ago, and have been eyeballing the new 1TB drives to backup said drives, but my mind has now been made up. I will not be purchasing from WD any longer! I loath any business that assumes that anyone with large capacity needs are criminals (smacks of the RIAA & MPAA).
